Boy Scout Troop 36 Scouts planted a tree on May 1, 2010 at our Chartered Organization - Holy Saviour Lutheran Church. The tree was planted to recognize the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts of America, the Troops 65th anniversary, and Arbor Day.
The activity was attended by members of the Church and Troop. It included a short program and some cake to end the event. BettyLou Lang coordinated the event and explained the background and reasons for the planting.
To recognize Scoutings 100th anniversary, for each teee purchased the Arbor Day Foundation will plant another tree in the Flathead National Forest to restore native seed sources. As a bonus, they will also plant a tree in the newly created Boy Scouts of America Centennial Forest. The Centennial Forest will aid in re-planting at the Flathead National Forest.
